Lady devastated as thieves borrow N198K with her account after stealing her phone

Lady Cries Out as Thieves Who Stole Her Phone Allegedly Borrow ₦198K From Her Bank Account

A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to lament bitterly after discovering that the thieves who stole her phone reportedly used it to borrow ₦198,000 from her bank account.

The victim, identified as Wuraola on TikTok, shared her ordeal in a viral video, describing it as the most unfortunate experience of her life.

Lady Recounts the Incident

According to her, the phone theft was bad enough — but things took a shocking turn when she found out that the culprits had accessed her bank app and used her details to take out a loan in her name.

Wuraola said the thieves must have gained entry into her financial apps after realizing there was no money in her account. Instead of giving up, they allegedly used her account to borrow funds, leaving her in debt.

Reactions from Social Media Users

Her story has triggered a wave of reactions online, with many questioning how the criminals were able to bypass her security details.

One user, @Mosh, commented:

“How did they log in? My phone has been stolen a couple of times, but they can’t access my account. They don’t have my token, neither do they have my pins. How did they do it?”

Others advised her to contact her bank immediately, block her SIM card, and report the fraudulent loan to the relevant financial authorities.

The incident serves as yet another reminder for mobile users to secure their financial apps with strong authentication measures and promptly deactivate stolen devices.
