Nigerian Pastor Heartbroken as Wife Abandons Him and Their Five Children After Trip to the U.S.
A Nigerian pastor has shared a heartbreaking story of how his wife — who is also a pastor — abandoned him and their five children after traveling to the United States.
In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by @ChukErice, the man recounted that his wife was sent in 2016 to represent him at a church program in the U.S. She attended the event and returned to Nigeria that same year, but during the trip, she was issued a two-year visiting visa by the American authorities.
“Nigeria Began to Feel Somehow to Her”
According to the pastor, things began to change after her return. She started acting distant and frequently complained that “Nigeria now felt somehow” to her.
By 2017, she informed him that she wanted to travel back to the U.S. to “complete her two-year visa.” Out of love and trust, the pastor said he sold his car to fund her second trip abroad.
“That Decision Changed My Life Forever”
Unfortunately, that act of support turned out to be the beginning of his heartbreak. Since her departure in 2017, the woman has never returned home and reportedly cut off communication with her husband and their children.
The devastated pastor said the experience left him emotionally drained and financially broken, describing it as one of the hardest lessons of his life.
Social Media Reactions
The emotional story has stirred widespread reactions online. While many sympathized with the pastor for his sacrifice and trust, others blamed him for being too naive.
One user commented, “Love is blind, but this one wear dark shades.”
Another wrote, “Imagine selling your car to send someone abroad, only for them to ghost you forever.”
The video continues to trend, with users debating issues of trust, loyalty, and the high rate of partners abandoning their families after relocating abroad.
