Hilarious moment African mom shaves off her son’s cornrows with scissors and blade after returning home from campus with a stylish haircut.

University Student’s Mom Cuts Off His Cornrows Minutes After He Got Home

A university student has shared a hilarious — and slightly traumatic — experience after returning home from campus with a fresh set of cornrows, only for his African mom to chop them off within minutes.

According to the young man, he had just gotten his hair braided on campus and was feeling confident and stylish, expecting praise or maybe even a few selfies with his family. But what awaited him at home was anything but admiration.

The Unexpected Haircut

The student said the moment he walked through the door, his mother took one look at his new hairstyle, frowned, and immediately pulled out a pair of scissors.

“She didn’t even let me sit properly,” he recalled jokingly. “Next thing I heard was ‘sit down!’ — and snip, snip, snip.”

Within minutes, his trendy cornrows were history. But she wasn’t done yet — she brought out a razor blade and finished the job, giving him a clean skin-cut right there in the living room.

Reactions Online

The post quickly went viral, with many people sharing their own stories of strict African parents and their reactions to unconventional hairstyles.

Some comments read:

“Classic African mom behavior — no negotiation, just scissors!”

“You knew what was coming the moment you walked through that door.”

“At least she didn’t use clippers from 1999 — that one buzzs and burns!”

The student ended the story on a light-hearted note, admitting that while it was painful to lose his fresh look so quickly, he couldn’t help but laugh about it later.
