Taraba State University Student Apologises to CAN Over Controversial Costume Day Outfit
A female student of Taraba State University has stirred widespread attention after publicly apologising to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) for her choice of outfit during the school’s recent costume day celebration.
The student, identified as Endurance Dennis, issued her apology through a viral Facebook post that has generated massive reactions online.
“I Didn’t Mean Any Disrespect” – Student Explains
In her statement, Endurance admitted that she initially considered her costume as harmless fun, unaware that it could be perceived as offensive to the Christian faith.
She explained that, after reflecting on the situation and understanding the deeper spiritual and emotional significance of the symbols involved, she realised that her actions were inappropriate and insensitive.
“I never intended to disrespect the Christian community or the values it upholds,” she wrote. “I now understand the gravity of my actions and sincerely apologise to everyone who felt hurt or disrespected.”
Reactions Trail Her Apology
Her post has drawn mixed reactions across social media. While some commended her humility and courage to apologise publicly, others criticised the initial act as careless and avoidable.
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) is yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident as of press time.
