Nigerian Lady Sparks Debate After Advising Men to “Pray and Endure” Cheating Wives
A Nigerian lady has stirred massive controversy online after offering what many described as “shocking” marital advice to men dealing with infidelity.
In a viral post shared by @Rene_noire on X (formerly Twitter), she urged married men not to walk away when their wives cheat, but rather to remain calm, pray, and stay committed to the marriage.
She wrote:
“My dear, marriage is not a bed of roses oh. You have to endure. When your wife is cheating, that’s when you pray the most. Don’t let small small boys fool you outside or collect your blessing.”
The woman went further to encourage men to stay loving and attentive despite betrayal, saying they should cook their wives’ favourite meals, dress neatly, and talk to them calmly.
“Women are like babies,” she added. “One day, she will change.”
Her post quickly spread across social media, sparking intense debate among Nigerians. While some users applauded her for preaching forgiveness and patience, others slammed her for encouraging emotional suffering and normalising infidelity.
Critics argued that the advice reflected a dangerous double standard in society’s view of marital issues, where men are often told to tolerate what women would never be expected to endure.
