Why you shouldn’t search your husband’s phone without his consent – Senator Shehu Sani

Former Kaduna Central senator Shehu Sani has stirred reactions online after cautioning women against checking their husbands’ phones without consent.

“Not Every Truth Is Worth Knowing,” Says Sani

In a post shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the outspoken politician warned that prying into a partner’s private messages often leads to emotional distress and avoidable conflict.

According to him, relationships built on trust should not require constant surveillance or suspicion.

“Not every truth in life is worth knowing,” he wrote. “Many heartbreaks and domestic quarrels begin when one partner starts searching for ‘evidence’ on the other’s phone.”

Sani added that when the devil tempts you to check your husband’s phone, it’s not to help you see the truth but to blind your heart with pain — a warning that many interpreted as advice to choose peace over needless curiosity.
