According to multiple translations of a hot-mic recording, the two leaders briefly discussed advances in biotechnology—and the notion of living forever.
“In the past, people rarely lived longer than 70 years, but today they say that at 70, you are still a child,” Xi Jinping reportedly remarked during their exchange.

President Putin, in response, appeared to take the conversation even further, suggesting that the future of organ transplantation and biotechnology could make “eternal life” a scientific reality.
“Human organs can continuously be transplanted. The longer you live, the younger you become—and even achieve immortality,” Putin said, according to the translated remarks.
