Fuji music icon Adewale Ayuba has finally addressed swirling rumors alleging a messy divorce and paternity scandal, firmly dismissing them as malicious lies.
Ayuba, who has been married to his wife, Azuka Ego, for more than three decades, debunked the claims in a statement released by his management team and on his official Instagram page.
The controversy began after a blogger on a YouTube channel called Nigerian News alleged that the singer secretly conducted a DNA test, discovered infidelity in his marriage, and subsequently divorced his wife. The report quickly gained traction online, sparking widespread speculation.
In response, Ayuba described the story as “fabricated and baseless,” stressing that it was nothing more than an attempt to damage his reputation and ridicule his family.
The statement read in part:
“Our attention has been drawn to a malicious publication by a faceless blogger claiming that Dr. Adewale Ayuba divorced his wife, Mrs. Azuka Ego, and that questions were raised about the paternity of their children. We wish to categorically state that there is absolutely no truth whatsoever in these false claims. Dr. Ayuba and his wife remain happily married after over 30 years, and their children are doing very well.”
It further pointed out glaring inconsistencies in the blogger’s narrative, including the false claim that the couple had been married for only one year.
Ayuba’s team described the story as a “cheap attempt to embarrass” and confirmed that legal action would be taken against the blogger behind the false report.
