An old interview with Regina Daniels’ mother has resurfaced on the internet, hours after her daughter stated in a circulating video that she was no longer happy in the marriage because her millionaire husband had repeatedly touched her.
When the 59-year-old senator married Regina Daniels, an 18-year-old Nigerian actress, it sparked debate, with one of the most popular theories being that her mother coerced her into the marriage for future income.
Recently, the actress was seen outside her marital home in her pajamas, saying that her spouse assaulted her.
The husband refuted this story, claiming that she has been consuming narcotics in their home for months and that whenever she overdoses, she reacts strangely.
Following their marriage in 2019, her mother gave an interview to BBC Africa to clarify many of the details she had heard about her daughter’s marriage to a man old enough to be her father, as well as her role in convincing her daughter to marry him swiftly.
Her mother said that she was the last person to know of her daughter’s relationship with the Billionaire, and Regina began to argue with her when she questioned her decision.
She decided to shield her daughter as every good mother would do.
The mother revealed that Ned Nwoko married her daughter before revealing his political side to the family, so she didn’t push her daughter for wealth.
In March 2025, she came out that if anyhting happened to her daughter, Nigeria should hold Ned accountable.
