The controversy began after Ubi was spotted wearing a wristwatch identical to one often seen on Davido. This sparked online speculations that the music executive might have taken the luxury accessory without permission.
The Accusation
Social media users quickly jumped to conclusions after photos of Ubi wearing the designer watch surfaced online. Many claimed it was the same one owned by Davido, suggesting that the Mavin Records affiliate had somehow come into possession of the Grammy-nominated singer’s jewelry.

Davido Defends Ubi Franklin
Adding weight to Ubi’s defense, Davido publicly supported him, stating that Ubi had nothing to prove and owed no one an explanation.
